The Ercumen Research Group is focused on environmental and zoonotic transmission of infectious diseases, drinking and recreational water quality, and drivers of antimicrobial resistance, domestically and in low-income countries. We conduct health impact evaluations to understand the effectiveness of water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) interventions in interrupting environmental disease transmission and improving child health. We also explore innovative approaches to enhance the effectiveness of conventional WASH programs.
